As a child, Laurent Tesla was the first in his class and very shy. In order to communicate with his schoolmates, he decided to attract attention by triggering all sorts of reactions: surprise, laughter, bluffing, etc. It was this childhood episode that later inspired his first mentalism act, in which he guessed numbers or animals.

Fascinated by the novels of Sherlock Holmes, he is fascinated by the deduction capacity of the detective imagined by Conan Doyle.

After his baccalaureate, Laurent Tesla joined the Sup de Co. Paris to study marketing and communication, before setting up an events agency after graduating. However, he did not put aside his particular attention to observing the people around him. This has given him a formidable knowledge of human nature as well as a great sensitivity and empathy which will naturally lead him to mentalism.

The best mentalist in the world as an influence

His study of the brain’s unsuspected abilities did not end there.
To train, he met and studied with international mentalists such as Derren Brown, Garry Kurtz and Luke Jermay.

With the arrival of the series The Mentalist, and its hero Patrick Jane, mentalism began to be known in France.

Hypnosis and mentalism shows

It was at this time that Laurent decided to create his first mentalism show entitled « Intuition » which he first performed at private galas and then presented to the general public at the Théâtre du Temple and then at the Théâtre du petit Gymnase in Paris.

This was an opportunity to meet the public for the first time, in order to test the mentalism techniques that he has been perfecting for years.

Since the beginning of 2015 he has been performing his second show « hypno mentalist » at the Comédie des Boulevards where he still plays with the enthusiasm to share his passion with people.

This show is a turning point, because for the first time, Laurent integrates hypnosis in the mentalist acts.

The objective is to push mentalism as far as possible, with the most reactive spectators to hypnotic suggestions.

The « hypno mentalist » show is still on the bill.

Mentalism during the health crisis of 2020

In 2020, the closure of theatres forces artists to reinvent themselves. Laurent decided to digitalise his show, so that spectators could watch the experiments from home, in complete safety.

It is thus with « hypno mentalist ONLINE » that Laurent Tesla connects with participants who are always so enthusiastic.
